I love teaching and hope to be doing it a long time. I started out teaching Conversational English in South Korea, then taught for three years in Detroit, MI, and I’m currently teaching my ninth year of 7th Grade Language Arts at Centennial Middle School. Outside of the classroom you might catch me doing this . . .
or this . . .

I devour good books, apple-fritters, sunflower seeds, and good coffee.
I obsess over fantasy football, educational technology, and landscaping projects.
I want to write more, blog more, and improve my disc-golf game.
I’m a Seattle Seahawks fan living in Bronco Country.
My Answers to the Revealing Question Challenge
- A time I could least believe my eyes was when I saw my blue disc sail high in the sky to the right of the pin, arc left, dive-bomb, and crash land into the basket for a hole-in-one playing disc-golf.
- I’m most proud of being named the 2011 Middle School Teacher of the Year in my school district.
- If I had to perform in the circus, I’d want to be the guy that’s shot out of the cannon – the human cannonball.
You are either boldly stepping out of your comfort zone or you’re not, in the relentless pursuit to stretch beyond what you think you are capable of. To transform the dull and ordinary into something memorable; dream magnificently and do what no one else is attempting.
